Even more proof that the public hates Ohio State....

Before the season started Ohio State was ranked ahead of Florida, they both have one loss and granted OSU lost big but it was to the #1 team in the country on the road!! UF lost at home to a an unranked and frankly bad team...so how doyou justify that?

The only game you guys looked good in was against Youngstown St. Florida has at least beat some team we've heard of.

That #1 team you cite lost to an unranked OSU team after whooping on the other OSU, and that is how it is justified.

    :tongue2:

Honestly though, I haven't seen much Florida play, but Ohio State has not looked impressive at all all year IMO, and doesn't deserve to be in the top 10 regardless of one loss.

You cant justify FLA being ranked two spots ahead of Ohio State after a loss that from a REALISTIC standpoint was way worse than ours.

If OSU was ranked below UF before the year started fine...sorry but that makes no sense.

Not that it matters but Im just sayin.

If you didnt think they were top 10 material before the year then fine..but if you had them as the #3 team in the country and there only loss was to the #1 team in the country on the road??? Doesnt make sense.

I think it's more than obvious that they didnt deserve the #3 ranking at the beginning of the year, and that the voters arent taking the preseason mistake into consideration at this point.

I could give two ****s about preseason rankings. I think they are garbage and should be done away with. No one should be ranked until at least week 4. All the preseason rankings do is bog down the voting process, because no one (most of the time) actually wants to vote on anything outside of the "powerhouses." Rarely are teams moved around w/o losses, even if other teams look far more impressive.

If Beanie doesn't get hurt Ohio St blows out Ohio, and scores atleast 2 times vs USC. Ohio St is a different team with Beanie on offense. Granted we still get killed just not as bad.

There's your problem. Preseason polls are absolutely useless, and mean even less. All they tell you is what someone, somewhere thinks of a team before they've even seen them. Preseason polls have no merit whatsoever, and are down right harmful when used to try and figure out where a team should be ranked today.

Besides, no need to fret, OSU is ahead of UF in the USA Today poll :wink2:

Dude, kill it with the victim complex, and look at where you were freaking ranked before the season even started. If the media hated OSU, you wouldn't have been that high to begin with. You dropped that far because you were embarrassed at USC, plain and simple.

Do you mean Ohio St if they win out should not have a shot at the national title game just because of its recent history? Of course it can't happen unless everyone loses 2 games.

They need to change the BCS because there is a obvious flaw in the system. but you can't punish a team for what has happened in the past. Its not like Ohio St earned it last year it just so happened Oklahoma and WVU decided to choke and let Ohio St fall in.

BIG HUGE CRAZY flaw. Human subjectivity playing too big of a role in the final picture. Polls are great, but playoffs mitigate the margin of error in human opinions, to which there are too many for this system to every work.

Nick Saban is a great coach, period, no matter what level. I'm convinced that had he stayed in the NFL, he would have built the Dolphins into a dynasty and been one of the top 2-3 coaches in the league. I don't like him, but I have to give credit where credit is due. The man knows how to coach football.

I feel confident that if the Buckeyes didn't royally stink it up every time they get a big time prime time game (06 against Florida, 07 to Texas, 07 against LSU, 08 against USC) that they would garner more respect in the polls. Fortunately though the AP realizes that Ohio State is a lot of hype, the Big 10 is a weak conference, and that there's no point in giving Ohio State a shot at anything signifigant because they'll just **** it up. Ohio State is like that ex-girlfriend you have who keeps wanting to hook back up. Eventually you'll forget the messed up way she treated you the last time you were together and you'll give her another shot. And then, damn it all, you just get burned again. The BCS wont make that mistake 3 years in a row.

Oh, and on a side note
    ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL TIDE!

    **** saban.

I don't know I quite agree with that. Nick Saban has always been a good college coach because he can go out and he can recruit top talent. He had what some ranked the #1 recruit class this year and is starting 15 sophmores and freshmen. Those are all his recruits. When he had Mike Shula's recruits last season he went 6-6. With subpar talent he doesn't thrive. In the NFL he wasn't able to go out and make sure he had top talent at every position because there are provisions to make sure that talent is equally spread around the league. I think he could have eventually turned the Dolphins into a playoff contender if he would have given up GM responsibilities. But I don't think we would be a dynasty. It's very hard to be a dynasty in today's NFL. I hate them but what the Patriots have done is damned impressive.

I disagree. Being a coach in the NFL and collegiate ranks are two different things. Its entirely possible to be great at one and poor at the other. And while I respect his collegiate coaching ability, I still think hes a scumbag for what he did here. And not that I wish badly for the kids ther, butI hope he loses every saturday, its unfortunate that it wont happen to often most likely.

Umm we were 1 TE catch away from beating Texas.... If Ohio St kills Wisconsin and shuts down Penn St to like 6 points you cannot leave them out based on previous years. Hell why even include Oklahoma? They get beat every time they get a BCS bid. Can't say anything bad about USC because they either play in LA every year or they go to the National title game.
