I was watching this evenings practice video http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/aquavision/aquavision.asp?category=1&mediaid=34326 and Henne has the Fin on his helmet, though the other players dont have theirs yet... dont know what it could mean but it is interesting
I think its very significant that he has the symbol. He had to earn it. Its just another example that Henne is progessing along very nicely. Good for him and for us. Having said that, I honestly think, if at all possible, this kid can't be thrown into the fire too soon. That doesn't mean he should not play or even start this year. I will trust the coaches to bring him along. No matter what, he seems like he has "something" going for him which may be a glimmer of hope for our QB position.
Thanks for the correction, it's pretty sad I can't even keep count of the number of scrubs since Danny. As for Beck, the jury is still out on him. It would be nice if he pans out, but it's way too early to call it.
Sparano has adopted a Marine-esqe approach to passing boot/ training camp. The US Marines consider it a privilege to salute superior officers, and new recruits are not allowed that privilege. Sparano withheld the Dolphins logo from rookies until they "earn" it.
Not even close IMO.... That guy made me miss Jay Fiedler in 02...and cost us a real chance of going deep into the playoffs. Thanks Ray.
My sphincter tightened every time Fiedler threw deep -- he SO MANY more snaps than did Lucas that I have to put him up top.
No question...he single handidly "threw" the game away! When our defense holds the oppposition to 150 total yards and we still lose, there is a HUGE problem. He sucked arse and I hate him.
Actually it means nothing because I saw vid's and Parmele and Foster had the logo on Edit Dunlap also had the logo on
Do you really think that Dunlap and Foster will both make the roster? Or maybe it means the secured not to be cut at the next cuts deadline? I mean Long as pretty much secured a starting LT spot from the outset of the draft yet he wouldnt get his logo... makes no sense
I think he means it is not as special as we thought as by the first week of training camp at least 4 rooks have earned the logo. Good job for all of them though! Anyone see a recent pic of Bess, has he earned his?
No, you had it right. Everyone who has started a game for Miami since Dan left is a scrub. Now one might get himself off that list, but as of now, they are all pathetic.
They all have Logos on their helmets in that vid. Had the scrimmage not been cancelled the other day I couldve seen if this was the case then too. Maybe Henne was the first to get his?
If you watch the Henne interview, you will see Satele walk by and slap him on the back. I thought that was interesting. It's obvious they are building a good relationship. Chad just might win the starting role. Interesting competition we have going on here.
Boy I do hate to rain on anyone's parade but if Josh McCown gets any regular season snaps before Chad Henne does, that would officially make McCown the 13th quarterback to take snaps after Marino's retirement. Of course if you wanted to, you could sort of jimmy up the tracking a bit and say that Chad Henne was the 13th new quarterback to take snaps post-Marino since Damon Huard was on roster before Marino retired. Then again, if you did that and Josh McCown didn't get snaps before Chad Henne, you'd be forced to admit Henne is only the 12th new quarterback to take snaps post-Marino, and this would give ammo to those Matthew Stafford fans out there.
Yep, almost every player had their sticker in that video. More importantly, EVERY wide receiver that came through the shot had theirs, and we all know just how much the wide receivers have done to earn theirs. Not pissing on Henne here, but let's not wet our pants over this little nuggett either.
I'll also add this observation. I'm glad Henne's received his right of initiation, but it looks like Beck got there first: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/61112 Not that this means anything, but just so people don't go getting the wrong idea.
Beck always had his... this is only for rookies... and in the video you can see other rookies who do not have them... so they all definitely did not have them
I wondered why I had this queasy feeling while reading this thread. Now I know why, "THAT" name was in it.
