I had the hardest time trying to piggy back my 360 off my wireless connected Vista laptop also (at my Ex's house)... LOL

    I do not envy you.

Well you really need to get it working so we can play NCAA. I hate dealing with that stuff tho

If I can get Mac OS X to bridge with my 360, I'm sure Vista ought to. Or else MS should be ashamed of themselves.

What's your connection type, cable or DSL? Might try to reboot a cable modem to refresh , repair connections on the laptop, and then running a connection test on the 360.

It's not the 360, it's the confusing F'n Vista screens... Once you do it, it's not confusing at all. Everyone is just so used to how XP worked.

Just find your network connections, right-click and go to properties. Select the option to share your internet connection.

I know, but sometimes you get problems in Vista even when you do everything right. If it's the IP issues, it's likely the steps I put earlier should clear everything up.

Yeah finally got it to work. I already had the connections boxed in before I tried to go live all I did was deselect the boxes in properties and then reselected them. IT finally worked, downloaded a Roster so I have all the player names :D.

    Probably get live soon.

Just skip a game or 2 and get the wireless adapter.

More like 2. Honestly, if it works, might as well bridge it with a laptop. It's free and you don't drop ~$70-100 on something that can only be used for one thing

I have been told you can use the original x box wirerless adapter on the 360, which wouldnt be that much I dont think.

Edit-Also once you get live you might have some lag issue, IDK. I have a buddy that was trying to play Halo 3 off his laptop and it had a BRUTAL lag, he was a ways from his router though.

Still around $50 sometimes, maybe cheaper on eBay but still, it's free if you got a laptop and free's better than cheap any day in my book.

Problem is, then you have to have your laptop near the 360 when you play and have it running the whole time. I say get the wireless adapter when you start to actually play online.

Actually mine is out on a tv tray away from the 360, I'm using the 360 Ethernet cord. Its not permanent I mainly wanted to see how many bars I get up in the theater room which I get 4. Though if I don't get any lag playing then really I'll probably just use the laptop.

I use the original xbox adapter and it works fine. Only difference is it needs an external powersource whereas the 360's doesn't.

I'm ok with it. I go on here in between plays and it's convenient for me. I've been using a 120 ft ethernet cable whenever other people in the house are online though anyways. Anything to save a buck.

I just ran a cable over to Mor's house. That seemed to do the trick.
