Has Penn State's on-field progress led to off-field problems?

Lol, I saw this on ESPN earlier today.

It may indeed have affected their progress on the field. These players are talents that are needed on the field but they aren't available due to stupid decisions made.

You also have to question their scouting. Do they do their homework on these players? If you continue to have bad characters on the team, do you really think your going to win with a bunch of players that will be suspended an X amount of games yearly?

Aside from me disagreeing with the overall tone of the article, this quote is complete crap:

If that dude really thinks his son's tuition pays for the football players scholarships he is an utter fool.

I'm sure the millions of dollars the football team makes each season pays for no part of their scholarships.

They present no numbers for any other teams, so prove to me that Miami has had less encounters over that time period the nickname does not transfer.

Hell I would like to know OSUs, USCs, LSUs, and FSUs transgressions over the same time period.

This is not unique to Penn State (as in the problem resides around the country in regards to collegiate athletics), though it is unique to Penn State in that the campus is not used to it.

Dont worry, you'll get the title back soon enough. PSU is just borrowing it for now

The Penn St program is in shambles with 82 year old Joe Pa. They need to force him out after this season.

Ohio St has its fair share of punks but Tressel at least takes action.

I realize there isnt much to do around that place but do you have to take 15 guys with you to beat up a handfull of dorks?

Yea, I guess 3 consecutive bowl wins (1 a BCS game and 1 against an SEC opponent), 3 consecutive 9+ win seasons, and 3 consecutive DPoYs means shambles.

I'm sorry, not every program can be in such great shape as to lose consecutive bowl games and fail to beat any SEC team at the same time.

I wonder if they consider Chris Henry and Adam Jones great characters.

man that 2006 Orange bowl vs FSU was a great game. Regardless that was his best season since 99. After that year they didn't see a bowl game until 2002.

I don't know if that jab at Ohio St was a insult given we take of business in the Big Ten and make to the big game. So we lost the past 2 years against the best team from the best conference in college football thats fine I can live with that.

I know but if they were on PSU, they would be loved for their great character in the community. I mean, who else gets better drinks for underage girls than Jones?
