RIP Randy. His Last Lecture Series presentation, seen below in its entirety, was one of the most inspirational speeches I've ever watched. The clip above is a reprise of the speech -- a much shorter version that aired on the Oprah show.

Thank goodness for the Internet to keep this story alive. I had never watched the video until today. I figured I owed him that. :)

RIP. I was shocked and saddened to hear of this when I woke up this morning. I remember seeing the Last Lecture presentation. It was about a month after my father himself had passed away from kidney cancer. Definitely lifted my spirits and I deeply mourn his passing.

    RIP Randy

We all knew it was coming... inevitable... but I, for one, had that hope that because of his will to live right for the rest of his days... some miracle would happen.
He was a good man with words we should all embrace.

i am a seven year cancer survivor. i was very fortunate, because the type of cancer i had was highly treatable if found early, which it was.

but words alone simply cannot describe the feeling one gets when you are told that you have cancer, and you are faced with your own mortality. i will never forget it, and nothing else in life has approached it.

i had a few very nervous days between the diagnoses and the subsequent pathology report, which told me what type it was and how far it had progressed.

it was very difficult for me during that time to be upbeat, to try to be positive, and to appreciative the life i had lived up to that point.

all i could think about was that my (at the time) 18 month old daughter might not ever know her daddy.

which makes his attitude and bravery shine thru all the more. he was an incredible, and inspiring man. Randy Pausch's grace, and the way he lead his life, right up til the end, are an example for us all.
