The Dolphins have made a significant upgrade to their preseason telecasts in 2010, landing veteran Dick Stockton as play-by-play man.
A 32-year veteran of NFL television, the Stockton is one of the best in the business. He can be heard calling NFC games for FOX’s No. 2 booth (he and partner Charles Davis worked the Dolphins wild 46-34 loss to the Saints on Oct. 24) as well as NBA games on TNT and postseason MLB on TBS.
The arrival of Stockton, 68, ends the four-year run of Craig Bolerjack, who primarily works for the NBA’s Utah Jazz. Dolphin alumni Bob Griese and Nat Moore will remain in the booth as analysts. Stockton’s wife, CBS reporter Lesley Visser, will continue to work the team’s preseason games as well.
The Dolphins have a true professional in the booth now who will be prepared and represent the team well.
Per the Herald’s Barry Jackson, an official announcement will come next month.
Here is the Dolphins 2010 preseason schedule, which will air live on CBS WFOR-4:
Aug. 14 – Tampa Bay
Aug 21 – at Jacksonville
Aug. 27 – Atlanta
Sept. 2 – at Dallas
