Miami Dolphins defensive end Phillip Merling was arrested in Weston, Fla. on Wednesday following a domestic dispute.
According to police records, Merling was charged with aggravated battery on a woman he knew or should have known to be pregnant.
Selected in the second round of the 2008 draft, Merling is competing with rookie first round pick Jared Odrick for the starting right defensive end position.
