Free Agency: Day One Recap

A quick rundown of Friday’s free agent happenings, as they relate to the Dolphins.

• Starting outside linebacker Joey Porter, inside linebacker Akin Ayodele and safety Gibril Wilson were released.

• Reached an agreement with free agent linebacker Karlos Dansby on a 5-year, $43 million deal.

• Re-signed veteran quarterback Chad Pennington to a 1-year, $2.5 million contract that includes an interesting ‘bonus’.

• Nickel cornerback Nate Jones signed a 4-year, $13.6 million deal with the Denver Broncos, joining former Dolphins Andre’ Goodman and Renaldo Hill in the defensive backfield.

• The Cardinals traded wide receiver Anquan Boldin to Baltimore, where he signed a 3-year, $25 million extension.

• Former Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle, who longed to come home to South Florida, signed a 5-year, $37 million pact with the New York Giants.
