Keys to the Game will not be seen this week, as Richard Lines is on vacation.
Linebacker Channing Crowder (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game against the Jets. He did not travel with the team to New Jersey. Fellow inside linebacker Akin Ayodele will slide into Crowder’s spot on the strong side, with veteran backup Reggie Torbor stepping into Ayodele’s spot. William Kershaw was signed this week in anticipation of Crowder’s absence.
Nose tackle Jason Ferguson (foot) and running back Ricky Williams (thumb) are listed as probable and are virtually certain to suit up.
After losing nine-year veteran Will Allen for the season (ACL), Vontae Davis will join fellow rookie Sean Smith in manning the starting cornerback positions for the rest of the season.
For the Jets, cornerback Lito Sheppard (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful. Sheppard missed the previous matchup between these teams three weeks ago.
Wide receivers David Clowney (ankle), Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) and Brad Smith (quadriceps) are questionable, as is defensive end Shaun Ellis (knee and ankle) and linebacker Bart Scott (knee).
Linebackers David Harris (wrist) and Brian Thomas (wrist), offensive guard Brandon Moore (foot), cornerback Donald Strickland (ankle) and offensive tackle Damien Woody (foot) all are probable.
