Okay, yesterday was disappointing. I hope I am wrong, but I am moving on. There are still A LOT of prospects that would be A+ prospects at this point.

    1. Jackson Powers-Johnson, C Oregon - Not much to say here. He clearly would be universally lauded amongst fans.

    2. Cooper DeJean, CB/S Iowa - I had us selecting him in the first round. He is a Swiss Army knife and could be used all over the secondary. Baltimore used a lot of 3 safety sets, so he could be our Kyle Hamilton.

    3. Johnny Newton, DT Illinois - I really thought he was going to go in the first round. He is one of the newer, more slender DTs that can get a pass rush from the inside. He has good power to his game. There could pretty nice value here.

    4. Payton Wilson, ILB NC Sate - This would be an A+++ pick. Injuries are pushing him down, but he really could have been a top ten pick if not for the medicals. He is a complete package.

    5. Zach Frazier, C West Virginia - If we miss out on Johnson-Powers, this would be a pretty solid consolation prize. Solid player with would help out our interior.

    6. T'Vondre Sweat, DT Texas - I am not really worried about the run game within our division. Sweat is a massive, massive human being that could clog holes, and I really think that is all we really need to do in our division.

    7. Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB Alabama - I worry about facing Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert, Stroud, and Lawrence. I just think we are in a situation where we can never have too many corners. There is a lot of potential value here.

    8. Keon Coleman, WR Florida State - I have wanted us to add a size guy for years. We need an end zone target badly. This would really help fill a void.

    9. Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE Texas - He is a solid player that definitely is not a need. I do think that it would be nice to have some big packages, and again, he would be a solid red zone target. There might be some value here.

    10. Mike Hall Jr., DT The Ohio State - Another undersized DT that really did do a good job at rushing the passer.

One thing that I think that we need to think about is not exactly players but situations. Our offense was one of the top, if not the top, performing offense in the league, but there are situations that have held us back.

#1 - Short yardage - Is it just me or do you all feel more comfortable in a 3rd and 12 than a 3rd and 2 situation? I also get nervous inside the 5. I would love some big targets, interior offensive linemen that are movers, and a power back. With the exception of Chris Brooks, who is not a lock to make the team, I feel like all of our running backs are variations of the same guy.

#2 - Change of pace/bad weather guys - Clearly, we have an identity as a speed team. I truly do love having an identity, but I also know that this identity does not win those games. Landing mudders, big bodied possession guys, and power players might not show up on the stat line every week, but these are some players that could have big impacts in the right situation that will present itself later in the season. One thing that I always admired about the Patriots was that they had a lot of different types of running backs that they could swap out situationally have big roles in games where their specialties could be accentuated.

I would like to see them focus on positions they can’t fill on the cheap with decent vets (like a Q Diggs @ safety).
    1. TE - there are a couple good prospects left, but maybe max 3 until late rd flyers. (Sinnott, Sanders, Stover)

    2. IOL- JPJ, Frazier, Haynes, Beebe, Van Pran, a few T that could move to G.

Otherwise DT or WR; WR class is deep, but that 2-3rd tier will dwindle rapidly I fear. DT class is thin, but doesn’t seem to be a priority for the Phins, though they need another body there.
